L.A. Kings defenceman Matt Greene spilled blood on the ice Saturday night in Vancouver.
No one knew where it came from.
During the third period at Rogers Arena, Greene’s skate appeared to burst open with blood, leaving a messy scene in front of Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.
On replay, it seemed Ryan Kesler’s blade might have sliced Greene’s foot.
It turns out the blood was the result of an incident that happened just moments before.
“I just got hit with a puck and just got cut,” Greene told L.A. Kings Insider. “That’s’ it.
“It’s just a pressure cut. It’s fine. It happens.”
That’s the first time I’ve seen it, Matt.
And I hope to never see it again. Yikes.
