Poor ol’ Mac.

Mark Guggenberger hates mascots.

Well, OK, we don’t know that for sure.

But he was fined Monday for slew-footing a mascot during Friday’s Central Hockey League game between his squad, the Allen Americans, and the Missouri Mavericks.

Gasp!

The 25-year-0ld Allen Americans goalie took the feet out from underneath Mavericks mascot Mac.  According to the CHL, it was “careless, unnecessary and avoidable.”

Mac, a horse whose eyes are bulging out of their sockets, was clipped while skating backwards and pointing to, presumably, a fan or player.

As shown in the video footage, Guggenberger has ample room to maneuver around Mac as he bolts out of the tunnel and onto the ice.

He also skates away with no hesitation, indicating he’s well aware of what just happened but couldn’t care less.

In typical min0r-league hockey team fashion — Wikipedia calls the CHL a “mid-level” pro circuit, for what it’s worth — the Mavericks are trying to capitalize on Guggenberger’s miscue:
