New trailer, play-by-play announcers for NHL 15

- May 5th, 2014

EA Sports gave us all a quick sneak peak at what we can expect from their latest hockey game, NHL 15.

The holy grail of hockey video games released a 49-second teaser on Monday, to wet the appetite of fans across North America.

There may not be much game play in the ad, but it does enough to get you pumped up for the newest edition from the series.

EA Sports also announced that a new commentary team will be in place for NHL 15.

As NBC Sports duo Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick and former Toronto Maple Leaf Eddie Olczyk take over for Gary Thorne and Bill Clement.

This is the first time since 2006 that Thorne and Clement won’t be the voices behind EA’s NHL franchise, which will come as a breath of fresh air to many fans.

Clement, known for his horribly boring one-liners, brings back fond memories of the franchise in it’s early days, but it’s good to see EA moving on.

TSN’s Ray Ferraro will also be joining the XBox ONE version, providing supplemental commentary from the ice level, according to Polygon.

You can once again vote for who you want on the front cover.

This year’s quarterfinalists for the front cover are Erik Karlsson, Logan Couture, T.J. Oshie, Phil Kessel, Matt Duchene, Patrice Bergeron, Drew Doughty and P.K. Subban.

All I ask is that the focus be on upgrading gameplay and crowd graphics, which haven’t changed since NHL 13.

Who do you think should be on the cover of NHL 15? Tell us in the comment section below…

There should be a “my career” just like nba 2k 14.
A story behind your person and how to make it in the nhl

I completely agree with a “My Career” mode in NHL 15. Other then that, all that EA Sports described sounds really good.

Again, no PC version. It is a same. The only game I play on my 360 is NHL14. I don’t play other games since I have a high performance PC. I won’t buy a next gen consoles just for NHL15 and I won’t buy NHL15 for 360 because it will be a cheap version of the next gen (missing lot of interesting features). EA Sports should make it for PC because all features they plan for Next Gen are already available for PCs thanks to CPUs and GPUs.
