NHL analyst Mike Greenlay may need to don a helmet — and a visor, just to be sure — after Thursday’s incident in Minneapolis.

While working between the benches for Fox Sports as the Minnesota Wild hosted the New York Rangers, Greenlay was struck in the face by an errant stick.

Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello was finishing his check on Matt Cooke of the Wild when his stick clipped Greenlay below the eye, leaving him a bloody mess during the first period.

Greenlay received immediate attention to plug up the gash, which left his shirt stained with blood, but he was able to finish the game.

He made light of the situation by posting a note on his Twitter account from his mom following the game.
