Subban meets young Habs fan he accidentally hit with shot

- April 5th, 2014

This should warm the hearts of even the biggest of P.K. Subban’s detractors.

The blueliner gave one young Montreal Canadiens fan a day to remember after the boy had been hit by a puck deflected over the Bell Centre glass on a shot by Subban.

Subban attempted to dump the puck in with a slapper from centre ice, but it deflected into the crowd and went off the kid’s father and hit the boy’s ear. The little one was eventually carried away while a helpless Subban could only watch.

Afterward, the Habs defenceman contacted the family to apologize and then some.

What a cool moment for that kid. The father was also stoked about the whole thing.

A very nice gesture by Subban, too, when he signed a puck for the fan and pretended it was the one that hit him.

“What I’m going to do is I’m going to sign this puck for you,” Subban told him. “You can say my first game, P.K. hit me with a slap shot and I survived. So that’s a pretty good deal.”

Good on ya, P.K.
