Swedish reporter interviews Canadian world junior fans, and it’s awesome

If there’s one cliche about the world junior hockey championship, it’s that Canada is the only country who truly cares about the annual showdown.

Seeing as the current tournament in Sweden is shaking up to be one of the most-attended world junior hosted by a European country ever, maybe it’s time we gave other countries credit.

Nevertheless, after watching the video below it’s difficult to imagine another nation diving into fandom so hard over a bunch of hockey games played by teenagers.

A Swedish reporter found some crowd gems during the Canada-United States game on New Year’s Eve, making for a very Canadian segment.

The two dudes with little to no voice left in their systems — shown at the 25- and 55-second marks — are my favourites. ”Two games in and I already can’t talk.”

Then there’s the man dressed up as a Mountie. And the die-hard superfan on her honeymoon.

OK, just watch the footage.
