The Boston Bruins had no problem handling the visiting Washington Capitals, beating them 3-0 Thursday night.

However, the same couldn’t be said about the protective netting at one end of the rink.

Two female fans, while hanging around down by the glass following the game, we hit by falling rods that help keep the netting above the glass. They were left bloody and needing medical attention.

The Boston Globe has more images from the scene, where one of the women had to be taken out on a stretcher. Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
