Belarusian forward Dzmitry Kowb applauds own goal from stands

- May 8th, 2014

Dzmitry Kowb doesn’t lack confidence.

To be fair, when you score a thunderous header to draw level late in a match, you’re allowed to showboat a bit.

Kowb, a 27-year-old Belarusian currently playing for Trakai of the Lithuanian league, bulged the onion back against league leaders Zalgiris FC.

Noticing there was next to nobody in the stands, Kowb entered the bleachers before sitting down and applauding his own effort.

It as audacious. It was cocky.

It was, in a word, hilarious.

According to FIFA laws, the player should have received a yellow card for entering the stands.

We’re giving him a round of applause.
