5-foot, 100-pound Kacy Catanzaro conquers American Ninja Warrior

- July 16th, 2014

If you’ve flipped through TV channels before and caught a few minutes of American Ninja Warrior on NBC, you know how tough this competition is. Even if you haven’t watched it, there’s not much to it. It features an obstacle course that chews athletes up and spits them out.

The show boasts that is has brought training instructors and even Navy SEALs to their knees.

Now all of those who have fallen prey to the course can kneel to a pint-sized competitor named Kacy Catanzaro.

At 5-feet, 100-pounds, the former NCAA Division I gymnast this week became the first woman to complete the event and qualify for the final. Even more impressive is how easily Catanzaro demolished the course.

Her intense, incredible run got the hashtag #MightyKacy trending on Twitter. Clips of the feat were shared across social media.

Her training partner and boyfriend, Brent Steffensen, is also a regular American Ninja Warrior competitor who competed on the Japanese version of the show, Sasuke.

For more of Catanzaro’s fitness feats, here’s her submission video for the show.

I love watching this show! And I was watching last night when Kacy had her phenomenal run throught the course!

In fact, I was so impressed by how well she ran the course….I got up out of my chair, stood up in my living room, and gave her a standing ovation!!!

Can’t wait to see how she performs in the finals course!
