Chilling MLB bat incident leaves little hope for humanity

- May 18th, 2014

This .GIF only tells half of the story. Believe it or not, on TV the incident below was much worse — and much longer.

First, take a look at what happened during Saturday night’s Blue Jays-Rangers game in Arlington, Tex.

From the looks of it, you’d guess the half-dozen adults above are squabbling over Babe Ruth’s Louisville Slugger.

Nope. The pathetic brouhaha above was over Edwin Encarnacion’s bat.

While at the plate, Toronto’s first baseman lost his grip late in a 4-2 Jays win and watched his bat fly into the stands.

And that’s where it all began.

The two men above didn’t want to let go. When they finally did, the man who was seemingly choked out by the guy behind him got into a brief dust-up with the younger man as stadium staff began to arrive.

With security sorting through the incident, the bald dude took off, refusing to give the bat up before electing to exit the park early.

Seriously, guys, it’s a bat. It’s Edwin Encarnacion’s bat. Give it to a kid sitting a row over — or someone else in need.

We’re thinking Keith Olbermann should go after these people ASAP, especially when you consider the most mature person in the picture is the little girl in the left hand corner.

What’s Keith Olbermann going to do, drool on them?

Well if it landed in the bald fellow’s lap, if anyone’s allowed to claim it, maybe it ought to be him. It isn’t as if it’ll have any value though, unless Encarnacion signs it?? Right, wrong…anybody?

Good thing nobody got injured, this was a flying bat after all!
