Broncos’ Wes Welker ‘makes it rain’ at the Kentucky Derby

- May 5th, 2014

Wes Welker was in a much better mood over the weekend than he was days before the Super Bowl.

We can’t be sure, but it probably had something to do with cashing in at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

What he decided to do with that cash was another story, as the Denver Broncos wide receiver handed out some serious cash as he left Churchill Downs.

Welker was being escorted by a police officer when he walked up to a random group of people and gave them $100 bills.

Some of the Kentucky Derby spectators just missed out.

Welker signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Broncos in 2013. Combine that with the thousands he pulled in on Sunday and the whole “makin’ it rain” on randoms adds up.

Churchill Downs was apparently the place to be for scavengers, as the clean-up crew found some odd items left behind.

Nice shoes, newspapers stained with blood and a big screen TV.
