Recovering Aroldis Chapman shares gruesome photo

- March 21st, 2014

Good news for all you baseball types.

Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman is on the road to recovery after taking a line drive off the face earlier this week, resulting in facial fractures that needed surgery — and a steel plate — to repair.

According to reports, Chapman is already cracking jokes with Spanish-speaking friends, a good sign there’s no memory loss (or brain damage). He even took some time to share a gruesome post-surgery photo of his head, which sports at least two-dozen staples.

Hey, Aroldis, no worries. Chicks dig scars.

But on a more serious note, with any luck the hard-throwing Cuban won’t need to deal with any mental scarring next time he takes the mound.

Because, as we can see now, taking a 100-plus mph line drive off the skull isn’t an injury you walk off.
