U.S. speedskating suit highlights athletes’ crotch

- January 16th, 2014

The people at Under Armour and Lockheed Martin have come up with the latest speedskating suit to be worn by the U.S. team at the Sochi Winter Olympics next month.

And you can’t avert your eyes to their design, dubbed Mach 39.

The designers placed a light circle around the upper thigh and adjacent to the crotch of the black suit, mimicking a flashlight in the dark. Not a good look when you are on the world stage.

The creators claim this suit is the fastest ever as the fabric inside the thighs reduces friction by 65% compared with previous suits.

Fast or not, people will not be able to look away from the crotch of athletes wearing this suit.

Incredibly dumb. If they can make special material to reduce friction between the thighs by 65%, the least they can do is make it the same colour as the rest of the suit!

Incidentally, are the women’s suits the same way? Where are the feminists screaming objectification of women? :-)

And for that matter, will anyone be complaining about the women’s uniforms because they are somehow guilty of fat-shaming, i.e., because viewers will be quickly able to determine (and will have a hard time not noticing) if there’s a #^&$#@! “thigh gap” or not!
