Local election debates

- April 17th, 2011

I’m off tomorrow, but here’s a list of all-candidates debates and when they’re airing on Channel 13. I tried to link to the PDF I got sent, for that’s apparently challenging my technical know-how right now. The debates start airing Tuesday and are broadcast multiple times a day, so check the “schedule” part of the website for more show-times. Enjoy!

At 4:30 p.m., I’ll be watching SunTV (Channel 59 on Rogers) for the launch of the Sun News Network. And no, no one is paying me to promo the channel. I’m just as eager to see what the channel will look like as everyone else, and I think competition in news is only ever a good thing — everyone else will have to step up because of the new competition, I think. I can’t say I agree with everything (anything?) some of the Sun News Network pundits say, but it should make for interesting watching. And really, I can’t wait for a breaking news story here in London that will feature Free Press reporters reporting live on the network!

Any word on how those of us who get our TV from satellite (Shaw in my case) can watch the local debates?

ok let me help you out:
#1 I am not voting conservative: Why: These dinks spent $80,000,000 of my and your money on a theme park for a gazebo. they then spent $10,000,000 of my money to support an x cop who was not all that popular with any of the jobs he held but was a master of pr and continues to cloud the issues as he did when he contributed to London’s out of control police budget. Diamond Aircraft needs $35,000,000 to build an airline industry in London but I am getting the impression that the owner is Liberal so it is ok to put 200 people out of work to prove a point. That little prick from London is talking due diligence. Where the hell was the due diligence when they spent $90,000,000 of my money trying to make their asshole prime minister look good and now are quite happy watching 200 of their best engineers leave the country. I’m in West Elgin and if you think I’m voting for preston after this little episode you’re wrong.
#2 I am not voting Liberal: If Iggy cant make a better showing than 30% of the votes then I think when he’s P>M: he’ll be out of the country on my $ more often than in the country and if I had an employee that showed up 30% of the time they wouldn’t be an employee long. I don’t think we can afford his travel plans.
#3 Jack………Jack you are the ultimate politician. Glib shallow committed unfortunately I don’t agree with your platform. If you were lib/cons. you would have my vote in a minute because you seem to be a man of your word. To bad the word of your party is not one I can buy in to. (have you considered running the co-alition)
Duceppe: Not an issue. If you want to separate leave but leave the land the way you found it and take all of your supporters some where where they will get treated as well as they do in Canada.
so the end of the story is
if you think you have to vote you don’t.
Make the parties give you someone to vote for with some integrity because what we have on the stage right now is not what I would consider having integrity.
If you are young…..demand better……if you are young don’t vote because they are trying to shame you into it. Demand what you expect and hold their toe to the coals until they give it to you.
if you are young tell them to stuff it and I’ll get off my ass to vote when you give me something to vote for. I’m old and I’m not planning on spending the gas money to drive to the election booth to vote for one of these phoney bastards.
Other than that you are voting for the same bullshit we have been putting up with for the last 50 years.
    Demand better
    Demand accountabilty
Demand firing some of these idiots that think our tax dollars are there to supplement their fund raising drives.
and if they don’t give you that……………………………………..save your gas, because you’ll need it for the increase in taxes you’ll pay to finance their little favorite subjects. Stay home and watch Dancing with the Stars…It”ll be…

I watched some of the Elgin-Middlesex debate Fri. night. From what I saw, the NDP guy did not impress me. I was impressed by Joe Preston though, but I have a problem voting Conservative. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do next Mon., but I’m guessing it’s going to be a last-minute decision.

No more conservatives for me thanks muchly. I don’t vote for puppets on strings, nor parrots in cages. I don’t vote for folks who can’t give me a straight answer when I ask questions.

No liberals thanks, the man just does not have…..it.

NDP maybe, I like Jack Layton and at least it is better than the alternative.

Most favorite? Green I’d love to see them get a shot, i’ve read their platform, it is sound and it is sustainable and it makes me feel good.

so my 2 cents worth is given
