I don’t know about you, but that coo coo’s nest known as Iran, is really starting to “P” me off!
In its latest poke at the west, the hardline, government run newspaper, The Kayhan, has gone after Carla Bruni, wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In his editorial, the editor-in-chief of the daily “whacko” said Ms. Bruni deserves to DIE for expressing solidarity with an Iranian woman sentenced to be stoned to death.
This so-called, Iatollah appointed, “journalist”, called the first lady of France a prostitute, who should suffer a similar fate… ”Studying Carla Bruni’s record clearly shows the reason why this immoral woman is backing an Iranian woman who has been condemned to death for committing adultery and being accomplice in her husband’s murder and, in fact, she herself deserves to die.”
To this point, the official response from France has been a feeble… “This is unacceptable”. But I can only imagine what hubby Nicolas is thinking… like maybe locking the papers’ coordinates into a Cruise missile!
Iran’s Foreign Minister, when questioned about the comments, said…”Insulting the officials of other countries and using inappropriate words, this is not approved by the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Really? So will the paper run a retraction and apologize for making Ms. Bruni the target of every Islamic, fundamentalist fruit cake out there? Don’t hold your breath.
Carla Bruni, is but one of millions in the civilized world condemning the possible fate of this poor woman.
Sakineh Ashtiani, a mother of two, has already received 99 lashes for her alleged affair and is awaiting the outcome of a judicial review of her stoning sentence.
For those who haven’t seen the movie “The Stoning of Soraya M.”, check it out .
(Trailer) The Stoning of Suraya M.
It’s a true story that graphically depicts what Sakineh may suffer. It shows how a backward nation with a modern face abuses women with its 12-century sharia law… a law BY men…FOR men.
It appears Sakineh’s God has forsaken her… maybe YOURS could be of help.

That movie is required watching, but I could only watch it once, as not only the stoning scene, but the entire story is overwhelming in that it’s so assaultive this happens. An estimated 40,000 women are honour killed every year. Shahreh Aggdashloo as the Aunt is fantastic in this.
I’ve been doing my small part to try and see Sakineh Ashtiani’s release – I dare the imans and the clerics to come after me :3 They’ll wish they hadn’t.
