Kid Khadr’s Future…A View From The 8-Ball!

- October 1st, 2012

So, what does the future hold for convicted Al Qaeda terrorist Omar Khadr, now repatriated, snuggled away in his Millhaven cell?

Will he soon walk amongst us, embracing our values, lugging a fat wallet, compliments of the taxpayer?  Is this what’s in store for our native son, who was led astray by a fanatical family, sided with the enemy and snuffed out the life of an American G.I. in Afghanistan?

Kid Khadr

Well, it’s a possibility.

His parole eligibility date is mere months off, his lawyers claim he wishes a “normal” life… and of course he’s suing us ($10-million) for failing to rescue him from his evil, Yankee captors, who kept him caged for a decade in Guantanamo bay, Cuba.

But the fact is no-one knows for sure what awaits Mr. Khadr, that being the sole knowledge of a much higher source… I refer, of course, to THE MAGIC 8 BALL!

Here goes.

Will Omar Khadr be released by summer?

Shake, shake, shake… ”Lookin’ good!”

Has he had a change of heart, sorry for what he did?

Shake, shake, shake… ”Highly unlikely!”

Will his suit against the Feds (us) score him a handsome settlement?

Shake, shake, shake… ”Oy vey!”

Facing harassment/persecution, will young Mr. K. eventually flee Canada, scoring hero status in a Muslim state?

Shake, shake, shake… ”I wouldn’t say no!”

If there’s a season this year, will the Leafs have a shot at the Cup?

Shake… ”Save it! I don’t do stupid questions!”

Sorry about that… just one more question.

Should there be such a place, should ma and pa Khadr burn in Hell for twisting the minds of their children, preaching violence and filling them with hate?

Shake, shake, shake… ”Ha! Got him…  awaitin’ her!”

Thank-you, Magic 8.

Shake, shake, shake… ”Don’t mention it.”

SCORE ONE FOR THE PREZ!

- May 1st, 2012

A wee tip of the hat to U.S. President Barack Obama, for pulling off his, ‘in your face, terrorist dudes’, visit to Afghanistan …on the anniversary of the Bin Laden hit!

Osama Bin dead one year!

Well done, Sir!

I can only imagine the mad scramble at bad guy HQ …” He’s where? Here? NOW!? …DOH!!!”

Under cover of darkness, Air Force One slipped into Bagram Air Field, the main U.S. base there, where the Prez caught a copter flight to Kabul for a meeting with his counterpart, (like, really!?) Afghan Grand Poobah, Ahmid Karzai.

The two signed an agreement that will broadly govern America’s role in that “garden” nation, beyond Uncle Sam’s combat role at the end of 2014.

Obviously, this was a gutsy move on the part of the President. While it may score him some points this election year, (his opponents will deem it a stunt) setting foot on enemy turf, no matter how well he’s protected, is always risky.

Da Prez!

Kabul is anything but a safe zone, with on-going insurgent attacks …and then, there’s “Krazy Karzai.”

I assume this wasn’t a surprise visit …that Karzai knew Obama was coming … which, I also assume, was cause for a little concern.

Ahmid, you see, is NOT one of America’s BFF’s.

Last month, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, spoke with U.S. Secretary of Defence, Leon Panetta …the following is a transcript, of a portion of that interview:

BLITZER: You trust Afghan president, Mr. Secretary, Hamid Karzai?

PANETTA: He – he is the leader of Afghanistan.

BLITZER: Do you trust him?

PANETTA: Well, I mean I – I’ve sat down with him. I talk with him. We talk pretty frankly with each other. And, you know, he is – he is the the leader and he is the person we have to deal with.

BLITZER: Does that mean you trust him?

PANETTA: Well, I mean, certainly, you know, you – you trust the leaders that you – you have to deal with. But you always kind of watch your back at the same time.

BLITZER: That doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement of the leader of Afghanistan.

PANETTA: Well, you know, it’s – it’s true for any leader we deal with. You know, you’re…

BLITZER: But this one has said awful things about the United States.

PANETTA: No, I understand. And, obviously, that’s been – that’s been a concern. But at the same time, we have had the ability to directly relate to him when it comes to some of the major issues that we’ve had to confront.

I think the answer the Secretary was trying to avoid, was …NO! WE CAN’T TRUST THAT A-HOLE, AS FAR AS WE CAN THROW HIM!!!

Dumb and Dumber!

Unfortunately, we too, will continue our association with Karzai …and I’m sure Ottawa agrees …WE CAN’T TRUST THAT A-HOLE, AS FAR AS WE CAN THROW HIM!!!

“…Can’t Handle The Truth!”

- November 6th, 2011

While the truth may set you free, it could come at a price.  Like, cost you your job!

Major-General Pete Fuller, who was second in command of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, got the axe Friday, for having the courage to call a spade, a spade.

Maj.-Gen. Peter Fuller

During a recent interview with the website Politico, he dared to speak aloud, the TRUTH, about the Afghan leadership.

He referred to them as being “erratic”, “ungrateful”, and “isolated from reality”.

When asked about President Hamid Karzai’s revelation, that should the U.S. and Pakistan ever go to war with one another, Afghanistan would side with Pakistan, the General said, “Why don’t you just poke me in the eye with a needle!  You’ve got to be kidding me.  I’m sorry, we just gave you $11.6-billion and now you’re telling me, I don’t really care?”

He said the Afghans make unreasonable demands with no comprehension of the economic mess the States is in, or of the “sacrifices that America is making to provide for their security.”

After sacking Fuller, General John Allen, America’s top dog in Afghanistan, said Fuller’s “unfortunate comments” don’t reflect the solid U.S relationship with the Afghan government…. “The Afghan people are an honourable people, and comments such as these will not keep us from accomplishing our most critical and shared mission… bringing about a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.”

Karzai The Corrupt!

Please feel free to burst out laughing!

Obviously, General Allen, a good, obedient soldier, was spouting the party (Pentagon) line.  I’m sure, like most, he sees Hamid Karzai for what he really is… an opportunistic, back-stabbing, self-serving weasel!

Playing both sides of the court, the Afghan leader has but one goal… to ensure, that no matter who wins… HE doesn’t lose!

General Fuller, many thanks for your service, Sir… and your honesty.

Karzai’s True Colours!

- April 2nd, 2011

Again we ask the question, just whose side is Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, on?  Who’s the dude REALLY rootin for?

Shhh, Don't tell!

Is it the coalition good guys, who, for a decade now, have been trying to drag his sorry assed nation out of the Dark Ages and leave it a civilized democracy?  Or is it the bad guys, the Taliban and Al Qaeda, who like it with the lights out?

Just over a week ago, the Prez felt it necessary to inform his pre-feudal era flock that some whack-job pastor in Florida had sparked up a Qur’an.

The burning of the book had occurred four days earlier, but not being big users of the social media or viewers of Uncle Lloyd at 11, the radical Islamist hillbilly factions were totally unaware of it… UNTIL Krazy Karzai shot off his big mouth!

The results were predictable.

Hundreds of holy halfwits took to the streets, firing off guns, burning cars and shops and denouncing the “western devils”… some turning their anger on coalition forces.

Fundamentalist whackjobs!

In Kandahar, at least nine people were killed and dozens injured… and in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, a U.N. compound was attacked, leaving 11 dead including seven foreigners.

It’s more than obvious, and has been for years, that Koo-Koo Karzai is playing both sides of the net.  His goal is to make sure that no matter WHO wins… HE wins!

He knows full well that the burning of the Qur’an was the work of one idiot… NOT an entire people or hemisphere.  But, his condemnation of the act was an opportunity to score some points… with the bad guys… just in case.

I can’t wait to see Afghanistan… in our review mirror.
