Skin Banana Boy!

- September 25th, 2011

The other night in London, Ontario, 7,427 fans attended a hockey game… and among them was the village idiot.

The NHL’s Flyers and Wings had played to a 3-all tie in their exhibition tilt, and were into a shootout when the moron struck.

Beats banana and Pearce...Scores!

As Philly’s Wayne Simmonds skated in on Detroit goalie Jordan Pearce… a piece of tropical fruit hit the ice in front of him.

It was a banana… Wayne Simmonds is black.

Was this a racist act on the part of our pin-headed friend… or was he simply disposing of his lunch leftovers in his backpack?

I’d like to think it was the latter, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Only the fool knows for sure and it’s unlikely we’ll hear from him until he’s collared… and he IS being hunted.

The local authorities would like a chat, social media dicks are on the case… and Norton Sports, a California sports management group, is offering a $500 reward to anyone who can finger the clown.

Understandably, Mayor Joe Fontana is terribly upset by the incident, and on behalf of all Londoners (excluding the witless one) has apologized to Wayne and the Flyer organization.  The Mayor joined us Friday… you can check out the podcast, at http://www.themotts.ca/listen.php .

As for Wayne’s reaction to the incident, he said, “I don’t know if it had anything to do with the fact I’m black… I certainly hope not.  When you’re black, you kind of expect (racist) things.  You learn to deal with it.”

As many pursue the matter, Wayne’s putting it behind him…”this incident is something that I will no longer comment on so I can just focus playing hockey for the Philadelphia Flyers.”

The kid’s a class act… he’d look great in blue and white.

Should the “banana man” ever be apprehended, I think he should be treated to a trip to Philly for a Flyers home game…and tossed into their dressing room.

I’m sure Wayne and the boys would get a kick out of his pants-filling apology.
