Knowing AP Sloan refused Durant a pension, Durants Wife begged AP Sloan to buy her pearls to help her over AP Sloan called on McLaughlin, Marr and DuPont to give Durant $10,000.00 a year pension and yes Durant slung Hambergers in a bowling ally in Flint. The fact that Larry Gustin has no recognition of McLaughlin Dr Campbell or General Motors of Canada confuses me but then Ken Kaufman and the information he published on the Bow Tie kind of makes you wonder when it is in the 1915 Chevrolet add books in the General Motors Archives.
I have been banned from the Buick and AACA for making some of the facts on Canadian General Motors from 1907 until 1918 when it merged with the Corporation /Not sold to.

I am in high-school. Ironically, my first car is a 1940 chevrolet special deluxe 4-door with suicide doors. It was left to me by my late grandfather who was thrilled by my interest in all of our classic vehicles. However, the one i loved most was that 1940 chevy. And only recently, after six long years of piddling all i lack is a paint job, sticker, and a tune-up. But something about that old chevy makes it all worthwhile. Good luck man! Who knows? Another might come along!

As far as the convertible goes, the new owner has given up on the bogus story and is sticking with the '49 prototype story. The history for body #57 from the factory to today is now well-documented and it doesn't include anything about it ever being even considered a convertible until the 1990's.

The latest can be found on a few sites, but the best would be on the H.A.M.B.

The Tucker Club tried to make the convertible out to be a fraud and then the club's own members started to realize their own club had turned into a fraud. How imbicile can you be! The dog gone made chases around in every direction trying to bite someone and in the end, it bites it's own tail. You sow what you reap!

Glen,
I was parked next to Doug & his Son (and their cars) at that 100th Aniversary with my well worn 58 Special convertible!
I also had the privilege of meeting Dad with his Limited Convertible back in the late 80's. He loved to tour with them and yes, the engineering involved to make the 4 door was really something. Quite the legacy to leave behind.

Glen, I'm not sure I share your fears. A prime example is lot #354 at this year's BJA Scottsdale ( a '51 Ford Custom) that had recently been offered by Valenti's Classics for $50,000 and was instead sold at auction for just $17,000 + fees. I think what we're seeing is just more publicity for what's been going on for years. Remember when Dusenbergs were the most expensive? There are still affordable cars out there!

It's involved into a caste system. The upper caste (1%) ignores us

The hobby will continue to thrive if we (the 99%) ignore them

I agree with Glen. It's like attending a Leaf game where most dudes in the gold and red seats couldn't explain an offside pass or what icing means

GREAT topic, Glen. Also controversial. If there weren't many gazillionaires around with money to burn, where would the CIAS so-called Cruise Nationals find product? And those one percenters keep restoration shops (the economy) humming, no?
