Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has left behind the chill of England for the warm Caribbean beaches of Mustique and, while baby Prince George is on board, Prince William has had to stay home.
The royal joined her family, including sister Pippa and brother James, on the Caribbean isle for the group’s annual sun retreat. Prince William did join the family in Mustique last year at this time, with the Duchess’ pregnancy making the trip more of a babymoon than a typical island getaway.
The prince was unable to attend this year as he is currently enrolled in a 10 week program on agriculture at Cambridge University.
The Caribbean holiday is the first trip abroad for seven-month-old Prince George.
Hello Magazine published the first photo of Duchess Kate and Prince George’s sun escape, though sources told the Daily Mail that every security precaution is being taken to keep photographers at bay.
“The concern isn’t crime,” the Daily Mail’s source said. “It is that visitors might try to take photos of the VIPs who are here on their phones.”
Duchess Kate and Prince George won’t be enjoying the warmer weather for too long, though. The Duchess is due to appear at an event at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Feb. 11.
