Beyonce, Jay-Z release celebrity stacked movie trailer for upcoming tour

- May 18th, 2014

King Jay and Queen Bey are pulling out all the stops to promote their upcoming joint tour.

On Saturday, Jay Z’s official YouTube channel released an official trailer for the tour, starring not only Beyonce and Jay-Z, but the crème de la crème of Hollywood.

Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida and Kidada Jones, Guillermo Diaz, Emmy Rossum, and Don Cheadle have all pooled their talents together to help promote their friends massive upcoming tour.

In the trailer, which sits at just under four minutes, Jay and Beyonce play a modern day Bonnie and Clyde, with a smidge of Mickey and Mallory Knox thrown into the mix.

Within the first 15 seconds, it’s not too difficult to guess what kind of “movie” is about to be presented. It’s one James Franco screaming “spring break forever b——“ away from being a complete homage to Harmony Korine’s fluorescent neon 2013 cult classic.

Here’s the basic rundown of the trailer’s plot: Jay Z is a major league hustler who isn’t afraid to get a little blood on his knuckles. He’s used to dealing with the Big Whig kings of the underground world, like Sean Penn’s shifty character, and he loves every second of it.

That all changes, however, when he meets Beyonce, a sweet girl dipping her toes into the exotically enticing criminal underground. Together, the pair go on a barrage of crime sprees, robbing anyone they can and killing them dead in their tracks if need be.

Hopelessly in love with one another, they decide to exit the gangster game altogether, but like every good action movie, agree to complete one more job before driving off into the sunset, bags of money packed tightly into the trunk of their getaway car, laughter lost in the wind.

Seriously, just check out any of the Fast and Furious movies. Literally, any of them.

Of course, a Beyonce and Jay-Z video wouldn’t be complete without a banging hip-hop soundtrack. The two have thrown together a couple of their original songs together and created remixed tracks we can only hope we’ll hear on the actual tour.

Is the video over the top? Probably. Is it something we’ve come to expect out of the game changing, chart topping, exquisitely extravagant couple? Absolutely.

After all, only Jay-Z and Beyonce could make Sean Penn look like an extra in a film.
