Diana Krall and Elvis Costello’s twin sons, Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James, are now six year old kindergarteners in New York City where they were born.
So they aren’t currently touring with either parent, Krall recently told QMI Agency.
“I was going to bring them out with me but they should be in school because they just started,” said Krall, whose Canadian tour for her latest album, Glad Rag Doll, starts on Feb. 3 in her native Nanaimo, B.C.
“My sister’s going to come out and hang out with them while I’m gone. Elvis left for New Zealand (to tour and in Australia).”
Otherwise, she or Costello or both are on school duty when either of them are at home.
“It’s a cold splash of water at 6 a.m. I’m not exactly a morning person but neither are my kids. But we somehow get ourselves going as every other person does in the world. They’re at school everyday and I’m up at six but still staying up late. (They’re) going to a very small school in the West Village. Very West Village-y. And they’re very expert in hailing and directing taxis.”
“They’re not going to be sophisticated,” insisted Krall. “They just know how to hail a cab. Little road rats.”
