David Bowie will not perform live again: producer

- January 12th, 2013

Sorry, David Bowie fans.

For those hoping that the Thin White Duke was going to tour in support of his first album in ten years, it seems it’s not going to happen — ever.

Longtime producer Tony Visconti, speaking with NME, said:

“He’s fairly adamant he’s never gonna perform live again… One of the guys would say, ‘Boy, how are we gonna do all this live?’ and David said, ‘We’re not’. He made a point of saying that all the time.”

Everyone can put the Coachella rumours to bed now.

Bowie’s new album, The Next Day, will be released in March.

I didn’t think he’d do another tour, although I really was hoping he would.

That’s the right decision……… make good music and we can enjoy it….. I don’t find watching all the geriatric rockers performing all that appealing.
