Pearl Jam unveils new single, album details

- July 11th, 2013

Pearl Jam’s countdown clock expired for a second time this week, and this time the band has jolted fans with details of their forthcoming new album.

Their 10th studio effort, titled Lightning Bolt, will be released on Oct. 15, and will be preceded by the first single, Mind Your Manners, which is out now. The track is exactly what it has been billed as – a hard-driving, straight-ahead punk song in a similar vein to Spin the Black Circle (off of 1994′s Vitalogy). Listen to it at the bottom of this post and tell us what you think in the comment section.

Lightning Bolt, which was produced by longtime PJ collaborator Brendan O’Brien, is their first studio effort since 2009′s Backspacer. The album is available for pre-order today at pearljam.com/lightningbolt.

As we reported earlier this week, PJ announced a 24-city tour that includes two Canadian stops at ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary on Dec. 2, and Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Dec. 4. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the public on July 27 at 10 a.m. local time.

The Seattle rockers already have two upcoming sold-out shows at London, Ontario’s Budweiser Gardens on July 16, as well as Chicago’s Wrigley Field on July 19.
